The Potter League''s Grand Opening on June 20 & 21st was a huge success.
Hundreds of people came out to see our innovative new Animal Care & Education Center and cheer as the ribbon was cut. If you couldn't attend, click here to see The Rhode Show's segment on our new building or the segment on the ribbon cutting.
Although our doors our open, we still need to raise a million dollars to cover construction costs.  Click here to make a donation to our building fund.

 Heart & Sole Walk for the Animals Breaks All Records!    
Over 600 people and 300 dogs raised $80,000 for our 20th annual Heart & Sole Walk for the Animals!  Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to raise money and to the hundreds and hundreds of people who donated to the Potter League in support of our mission.  Special thanks to the 80 plus volunteeers who helped us to execute such a successful event!  Click here to view list of top fundraisers and teams!

New Animal Care and Education Center is Open!

After 14 months of construction, our new 19,500 square foot facility is open. The photo to the right features our welcoming lobby. The building is getting rave reviews from visitors, volunteers and staff.  But the biggest benefit is to the animals who are healthy, happier and getting adopted at record rates.  Please visit soon.....you will be amazed at the difference!


Obedience Training Classes now Enrolling!


Our new 2,000 square foot Obedience Training Center is now open.  This bright and cheerful climate controlled room has plenty of space to spread out.  A rubberized floor makes training sessions comfortable for both two and four legged participants.

There is a variety of classes- something for everyone, regardless of age or training ability. Start with the basics and work your way up to the Potter League Hall of Fame!   Click here to view a schedule of classes.


Humane Education News

Announcing enrollment for Happy Tails Day Camp this summer. For children in grades 2 & 3, sessions are running July 20 -24 and August 3-7.  For children in grades 4 & 5, sessions are running July 27-31 and August 10 -14.   Down load a brochure, Space is limited so act today. Concerned about coyotes in your neighborhood?  The Potter League, in collaboration with the Conservation Agency's Narragansett Bay Coyote Study, has established a great resource to get your questions answered. Call 924-HOWL (4695) to speak with a knowledgeable wildlife expert! Individuals concerned about immediate safety issues are asked to call their local police department.

The Potter League received the 2008 Excellence in Business Award Award in the Nonprofit category from the Newport County Chamber of Commerce.
