Ways to Give

The Potter League for Animals is a non-profit, 501c3 organization. We rely on funding from private donations, speciale vents and foundations for the majority of our operating expenses.

Please consider making a donation today. Your help could save the life of an animal.
If you would like to help us, you can click here to make a secure online donation or print out a donation form and mail it to the Potter League for Animals, P.O. Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.

Please consider giving to the Potter League through workplace giving:
For the United Way of Rhode Island, simply write the name of the Potter League for Animals in the section of the form that specifies Donor Designation.
For the Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusettes Area Combined Federal Campaign, please write this special five digit code, #37967 on the CFC pledge form.
For the RI State Employees Charitable Appeal (SECA), please write this special four digit code, #3450 in the designated spot on the SECA pledge form

To help make your donations go further, check with your workplace to see if they will match your donation. Most major corporations have a matching gift program for employees.

Please consider making a donation today. Your gift will make a difference and help us place hundreds of animals in new homes.
Here are more ways to help our homeless animals and the Potter League:

Forever Friends Society
The Forever Friends Society is a unique group of investors in the Potter League for Animals. These generous and farsighted individuals have made the Potter League a part of their estate plans. By doing so, they have guaranteed the League's long term financial security and have satisfied their own dreams and dedication to help animals.

IRA Rollover Extension
If you are age 70 ½ or older, you can make an outright gift to the Potter League by transferring funds directly from your individual retirement account (IRA) without paying federal income taxes on the distribution. The gift must be made by December 31, 2009, and will count towards your minimum required distribution. Such a gift can be made up to $100,000.

Gifts of Appreciated Assets
Consider donations of stocks, bonds, or real estate to contribute to our annual fund or to fund a planned gift.

Have a Heart Cocktail Party and Auction
This festive February event  livens up a winter evening.  The food is fabulous and the silent auction is the largest in the Newport area with over 300 items.  It is held on the Monday before Valentine's Day at the Viking Hotel in Newport.  Sponsors, volunteers and donations of quality gifts and gift certificates from restaurants, businesses and shops make this a successful fundraiser.
