Obedience Training Schedule

Dog Training Classes, Play Groups and other dog Events!

Thank you for your interest in training your dog. The Potter League offers dog training classes for dogs ages two months and older. Puppy Classes and Basic Training for beginners of all ages as well as Specialty Classes to address issues such as Leash Reactivity, Coming When Called and Leash Walking Manners are offered in our large, indoor, climate controlled training center.  For those looking for play and exercise for your dogs, we offer fun Dog Sports classes such as Agility, Freestyle Dancing and Rally-O (Doggy-O) as well as Play Groups for puppies and small breed dogs. Looking for a more individualized approach?  Our Private Consultations and Training are tailored to your schedule.

In order to participate in our classes, your dog must be current on all age-appropriate vaccinations and a copy of your dog’s current rabies vaccination certificate must be provided (for dogs and puppies 3 months or older).  Our classes are taught by experienced dog trainers and we utilize positive, reward-based training methods.

All classes (except drop-in Play Groups and Free “Try-it” classes) require pre-registration, which can be done online or in person at the shelter.

Potter League adopters are entitled to a tuition discount on a beginner dog training class as well as the opportunity to attend our free weekly drop-in Adopter Training Class on Sundays at 10:00am.

Instructor was excellent, patient and knowledgeable.  10 out of 10!                                             -Tom C., Portsmouth RI

This class made life better for my dog and family.

The trainer, Byron was wonderful. We had a lot of one on one time.  She was very knowledgeable and helpful with questions that were happening at home.  The Puppy Play Groups were also very helpful.   I’m looking forward to Puppy Honors Class.

We would recommend this class to anyone who wants a well-mannered puppy.  It helped Wesson learn a lot but it also helped us to learn how to train him better.  We hope to participate in another class soon!  Thank you!

Loved the class and it was very helpful for my “shy guy”.  He already has more confidence.  We hope to take more classes.  The instructors were very patient with him.

We were looking for an affordable program from people who truly love dogs and believe training is all you need to make any dog manageable!  Potter League was the perfect match for us!  Thank you!

When I first saw the agility obstacles I couldn’t figure out how the dogs were going to conquer them – I was amazed at how quickly they picked it up!  It is great to see how much they all love to do it – my dog and I really enjoyed the class – Dale did a great job!
