Volunteer Recognition
2011 Volunteer of the Year: Bernadette Emery

The Volunteer Recognition Dinner was held at the Green Valley Country Club on May 17th. The dinner was held in honor of Potter League volunteers who logged 30 hours or more during the 2011 calendar year.
It is not easy to pick one volunteer for any award, since the Potter League is extremely fortunate to have so many great people donate their time day after day, but we would like to take this opportunity to recognize a truly amazing woman as our volunteer of the year, Ms. Bernadette Emery. Her passion for the Potter League is evident in all she does. Bernie manages to juggle raising two sons, a demanding full time job and church activities in addition to volunteering over 100 hours last year at the Potter League. Whenever a request goes out for help, one of the first to respond is Bernadette. “No” is not a word in Bernie’s vocabulary. Her sense of humor, fun loving and generous personality is infectious. She has truly been an inspiration to all.
For all of you that know her, you would agree that we are proud to present Bernadette Emery with the 2011 Volunteer of the Year Award.
Pat Fairchild receives the Lore Owens Award

The Lore Owens award was established in 2000 in honor of the longtime volunteer, Lore, who died tragically in 1999. Christie Smith presented Pat Fairchild with this special award. Pat has been volunteering at the Potter League for 3 and a half years. During that time, Pat has been a tremendous help logging in more than 1,000 hours! She can be seen giving tours, helping out potential adopters, making copies, and assisting at the front desk. She if efficient, helpful and a pleasure to be around. We are lucky to have her!
