Job Title: Facilities Manager
Department: Operations
Location: Three locations – Animal Care & Adoption Center in Middletown, RI, Spay & Neuter Clinic in Warwick, RI & PIN Clinic in East Providence, RI
Classification: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt
Reports To: Chief Mission Officer
Job Purpose
The Facility Manager is responsible for maintaining all areas of the Potter League’s buildings and grounds, including
HVAC, fire, plumbing, and electrical systems, and general grounds maintenance, including landscaping and snow removal.
Accountabilities
- Supervises and coordinates all maintenance services and repairs pertaining to building and related equipment.
- Serves as the primary contact for all contractors working on building systems and grounds. Solicits quotes for services from contractors and coordinates their work duties and schedules.
- Ensures regular maintenance of all building systems, either directly or through agreements with contractors
- Takes charge of all emergencies related to the mechanicals of the facility.
- Implements all maintenance and general procurement of materials and parts.
- Schedules installations and ensures that such repairs are accomplished safely and on time.
- Oversees vehicle maintenance.
- Formulates and implements preventive maintenance programs for mechanical systems, equipment, and building maintenance. Maintains accurate records concerning annual inspection of equipment and general preventive maintenance.
- Develop and maintain a Ready Reference Manual for all building systems and procedures.
- Oversees and assists with snow removal and grounds maintenance.
- Oversees volunteers working on facility and grounds-related projects.
- Is responsible for the efficient operation of the maintenance department, including cross-training as necessary.
Continually seek ways to improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of mechanical and facility systems.
- Follows all safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment. Conducts training and implements safety regulations and programs.
- Responsible for the achievement of department goals and financial objectives.
- Demonstrates initiative and a flexible work schedule to meet the job’s demands while working enthusiastically and cooperatively with all departments and staff to ensure that the organization’s goals are met.
- Adheres to all Code of Conduct standards.
- Other duties as requested.
