DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Annual Meeting of the Potter League for Animals on Thursday\, January 25\, from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. at Newport Vineyards. This event will be an insightful year-end review and will feature a special presentation by the esteemed Dr. Gary Block. \nDr. Gary Block\, a distinguished graduate of Cornell Veterinary School and a board-certified small animal veterinary internist\, will be addressing a crucial topic during the meeting. His talk will delve into the challenges and solutions surrounding accessibility to veterinary services. As a passionate advocate for animal welfare\, Dr. Block brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the discussion. \nIn addition to his impressive background\, Dr. Block is the current President of the Evidence-Based Veterinary Medical Association and has held leadership positions in various veterinary organizations\, including the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association and the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association. \nThe event will not only offer valuable insights from Dr. Block but also provide a platform for networking and discussions about the Potter League’s endeavors. Light refreshments will be served. \nThis event is free and open to the public\, but we kindly request that you RSVP below to ensure we can accommodate all attendees. Enjoy a fun-filled dog walk\, music\, a sponsor & vendor marketplace\, food trucks\, special activities for dogs and kids\, featured entertainment\, and a festive atmosphere celebrating the special bond between animals and people. \nThe Heart & Sole Walk for Animals is a beloved tradition\, and in addition to raising essential funds to support our lifesaving work\, it’s an opportunity for animal lovers to join together in creating a more humane Rhode Island for people and pets alike. \nHelp Animals in Need\nThe Heart & Sole Walk for Animals is our biggest fundraiser of the year\, with proceeds helping to save the lives of thousands of animals in our community with programs such as foster care\, spay/neuter\, adoptions\, animal rescue\, affordable veterinary care\, and more. We sincerely apologize to those who arrived at The Waves the night of the event only to find out about the cancellation. We are actively working on improving our communication plan to better handle such situations in the future. \nYappy Hour plays a crucial role in supporting the Nuala Pell Animal Care Fund\, which provides essential care and veterinary services for orphaned animals throughout the year.
