As the state’s largest comprehensive animal welfare group\, they help over 15\,000 companion animals each year. As a 4-star Charity Navigator-rated nonprofit in the top 1% of the nation\, they are dedicated to serving the needs of people and animals in Rhode Island and throughout New England. \nSnacks provided by UNFI Cafe PVD and Gather Farm Ice Cream. \nAbout TroopTop Thursdays\nThe community is invited to TroopTop Thursdays at the WaterFire Arts Center every Thursday this summer\, through August 29. WaterFire Providence and Valley neighborhood restaurant\, Troop PVD\, have collaborated to create a rooftop bar with live musical performances and arts experiences as well as a fundraiser for the featured non-profit organization of the night. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a tail-wagging time at the Great Friends Meeting House! 🐾 \n\n\nOn Sunday\, September 1 from 9 am – 12 noon\, animal lovers and pet owners are invited to Newport for a free Bark Ranger\, Purrk Ranger community event on the lawn of the Great Friends Meeting House. All animals are invited to have a professional photograph taken at no cost by local photographer Jessica Pohl. \nThis event is hosted by the Newport Historical Society and the Potter League for Animals\, with free programming provided by the National Park Service (NPS) Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historic Trail. After animals are “sworn in” as honorary rangers by the NPS for adhering to key values like picking up pet waste\, keeping pets leashed\, and respecting wildlife\, they will receive a free collar charm and bandana while supplies last. \nPet owners who attend the event alone can still receive the charm and bandana if they sign the pledge and show a photo of their pet. \n\n\nEnjoy professional pup pictures\, an honorary Bark Ranger badge\, and more on September 1st from 9am to 12pm on the Great Friends Meeting House Lawn.

First Come\, first served.\nRabies\, DHPP\, FVRCP – $10\nMicrochips – $10 \nPlease note this is not a free clinic and payment (cash or card) will be collected during check-in. \nTo be eligible for a three (3) year vaccine\, owners must bring proof of non-expired prior vaccination. A third-generation veterinarian with dual board certifications in Oncology and Small Animal Internal Medicine\, Dr. Hohenhaus is a distinguished expert in her field\, with a career spanning veterinary research\, international lecturing\, and award-winning journalism. \nDr. Hohenhaus brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for advancing animal health and welfare. She is a published author\, researcher\, and speaker\, contributing widely to veterinary literature and education. In addition to her work at AMC\, she fosters kittens for the ASPCA and hosts the highly ranked “Ask the Vet” podcast. \nThe evening will also provide an opportunity to celebrate the Potter League’s accomplishments over the past year and discover the exciting work and initiatives planned for the year ahead. \nThis event is free and open to the public.
