To many people in Rhode Island and neighboring states\, the cost of quality veterinary care for their beloved pets is out of reach. Despite the efforts of many\, pet owners are often left with nowhere to turn when their pets are in need of care. We believe that everyone deserves companionship and are here to help these pet owners. Our clinic will offer free vaccinations and free microchipping. \nDetails:  \nNo appointments or registration is required.\nDogs must be leashed\, cats & ferrets must be in carriers.\nPets must be at least 12 weeks old.\nTo be eligible for a three (3) year vaccine\, owners must bring proof of non-expired prior vaccination. If you cannot provide proof\, they will only receive a one-year vaccine.

Preventative care for your pet is critical to maintaining their overall health and avoiding unwanted and even life-threatening illness. In most cases\, preventative care requires a routine visit to your vet to complete a wellness exam\, get needed vaccinations\, treat or test for potential parasites\, and receive prescription medications. \nIt’s easy to skip a year\, especially when you face challenges in scheduling your pet’s appointment. Veterinarians across the country are still managing an increase in demand for services while trying to meet that demand with fewer staff. Free & open to the public. Please consider RSVP’ing below. Hope to see you there! \n\nDr. Michelle Crossley is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Rhode Island College. She completed her doctoral studies in Counseling and Counselor Education at North Carolina State University; the title of her dissertation was Pet loss and human bereavement: A phenomenological study of attachment and the grieving process. She recently co-authored an article that was published in the Human-Animal Interactions Journal titled Overcoming the social stigma of losing a pet: Considerations for counseling professionals. \nDuring the collection of her data for her dissertation\, she found the Association for Pet Loss and bereavement and began volunteering with the organization as the newsletter editor and board member in 2012. Since then\, she has worked with the organization to revise their Pet Loss Grief Specialist Training\, began a professional support group for pet loss and veterinary professionals\, and serves as the current Vice-President. \nAs a native Rhode Islander\, Dr. Crossley and her family moved back to RI in 2012\, where she began working in the mental health field. She became independently licensed in 2017 and began a small private practice in Pawtucket\, RI. She also serves as the President of the Rhode Island Mental Health Counselors Association and advocated for legislative changes to benefit mental health delivery in RI. \nDr. Crossley lives in northern RI with her partner of 14 years\, three children\, and three dogs.

First Come\, first served.\n$10 per animal Cash Only**\nTo be eligible for a three (3) year vaccine\, owners must bring proof of non-expired prior vaccination. If you cannot provide proof\, they will only receive a one-year vaccine. \nYou do not need to be a resident of Middletown in order to attend.
