Hosted on the scenic grounds of Rough Point and inspired by Doris Duke’s enduring love of animals\, this one-of-a-kind dog fashion show celebrates pets\, preservation\, and pure panache. \nWhether you’re walking the “dogwalk” or just soaking in the style\, this event promises an unforgettable evening of fun\, fashion\, and fundraising. \nDo You & Your Pup Want to Strut the Runway?\nCanine Couture Participant – $25 donation\nIs your pup ready for their runway moment? Register your dog to walk the “dogwalk” in a themed costume category like “Perfectly Patterned\,” “Flower Power\,” “City by the Sea\,” and more!\nIncludes a pup-tastic goodie bag and professional digital photos of your moment in the spotlight. Many of her pets were adopted from the Potter League\, and we’re proud to continue that tradition of compassion and care. \nSuggested donation: $5All proceeds benefit the Potter League for Animals and the Newport Restoration Foundation. \nAdvance registration is kindly requested here. Please note: All pets must be leashed and picked up after on the grounds. Service dogs are welcome inside the museum\, but pets are not permitted indoors.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for Roam Around Rough Point with the Elephants presented by Newport Restoration Foundation on August 17 from 11 am-3 pm! \nWe’re excited to be a community partner alongside Bike Newport\, Conexión Latina Newport\, Charter Books\, Tomaquog Museum\, and more! Bike\, trolley\, or walk to meet the elephants at Rough Point and participate in this wonderful event. Dine al fresco among Rough Point’s resident elephant herd\, enjoy live music from Chelley Knight & The Dope Things presented by North End Entertainment\, and take in the breathtaking ocean views. \nBring your lawn blanket and/or chairs and your picnic supplies. They will be providing Del’s Frozen Lemonade. This FREE community event is open to all\, but we recommend registering here in advance. \nPlease note: There is no parking onsite for this event.
