We are here to help pet owners. Together, we can get ahead of behavior challenges before they become a problem. We offer training classes, lectures, events, consultations, and a free Behavior Helpline, all giving the community direct access to our professional trainers.

At the Potter League, we realize there is more to a happy and fulfilled pet than food, water and veterinary care. Enrichment, socialization and training are a big part of the experience we provide for the animals in our care as well as those in the community. The Potter League Dog Training & Behavior Center can help you build a positive relationship, teach life skills, increase sociability, avoid problem behaviors, and strengthen loyalty & companionship.
It is part of our mission to foster the human-animal bond, especially in our training classes. Our classes are designed to teach you how to motivate your dog and humanely decrease unwanted behaviors, all while having fun.
Our classes do not use force, fear, or pain and all training is based on the science of how animals learn. We will teach you how to effectively increase the behaviors that you do like with positive reinforcement and decrease those that you do not like by reward removal. Food is the most powerful motivator for dogs, so that is the primary reward used in classes. Once behaviors are learned, we will teach you to maintain them through the use of life rewards.
Behavior Helpline
Why does my dog do that? Problem behaviors? Stumped or frustrated? The Potter League’s Behavior Helpline is a free animal behavior service available to all pet guardians experiencing behavior problems with cats and dogs.
