The Potter League’s Fetching Friends Transport Program is a life-saving program where we work with other shelters and animal welfare organizations to transport animals from across the country. We have been actively transporting dogs since 1996 from shelters that are often overwhelmed with animal homelessness and/or lacking critical resources and funding ― to bring animals to Rhode Island.
In addition to partnering with local rescues, the Potter League works with organizations across the country to transport animals from areas where shelters and rescues are overpopulated and overcapacity with the number of animals needing new homes. Transport programs help create space so these shelters can focus their resources on the remaining animals in their care.
While the majority of animals we bring into our are dogs, Fetching Friends also saves cats from overpopulated shelters or hoarding cases.
If your organization wishes to become a PLFA transport partner, please submit an interest form and we’ll save your information for consideration.
