At the Potter League, our Keeping Families Together Programs aim to support healthy relationships between pets and their families, ensuring no pet is left behind. Through our safety net services, we offer a variety of resources to keep families together during challenging times.
Our Potter Pet Food Pantry provides pet food and supplies free of charge, even days a week both at Potter League facilities and human food pantries around Rhode Island. While we cannot guarantee specific brands or diets, we strive to meet the needs of every pet in our community. Delivery options may be available upon request.
For community members facing hospitalization, domestic violence, displacement due to natural disasters, or temporary housing challenges, our Pet Safe Housing program offers a haven for their beloved pets. We consider other situations case-by-case, depending on current resources and space availability.
Stay up-to-date on your pet’s vaccinations with our convenient vaccine clinics.
Are you struggling with behavior issues? Whether it’s introducing new pets or family members, our behavior resource library, dog training classes, and free behavior helpline can provide solutions and support.
Our Potter League Spay & Neuter Clinic offers affordable services to help control pet overpopulation and promote responsible pet ownership. Pets can also be vaccinated at the time of surgery.
In addition to our food pantry, we may be able to assist with other pet supplies based on availability. Contact us for more information.
Deciding to rehome a pet can be a tough decision. Before surrendering your pet, explore all your options. Many issues, such as behavior or medical concerns, can be addressed with the right resources and support.
If rehoming is necessary, consider contacting friends and family or using resources like Rehome, where you can create a profile and connect with potential adopters. We’re here to help guide you through this process and support you every step of the way.
If you need help and don’t see a solution on this list, connect with our Community Navigator by emailing community@potterleague.org or calling 401-846-8276 for guidance to help you keep your pet as part of your family.
