The Potter League is happy to offer volunteering opportunities for youth between the ages of 6 and 17. Families are welcome to volunteer their time together. We request that volunteers under the age of 15 bring a parent or guardian with them to all volunteer shifts.
Our Pet Pals Team is for youths from ages 6-14 and their supervising adults (21 or older). Volunteer teams comprised of one adult and up to two youths are called Pet Pal Teams. An application must be submitted for each child and adult.
We offer volunteer positions for youth 15 to 17 years of age and require a commitment of 4 hours per month for at least six months.
To become a junior volunteer, simply complete the volunteer process by first attending an information session and choose your orientation date. Space is limited, so please choose only one date that is convenient for you.
Once you become a volunteer, you’ll be asked to purchase a “Volunteer Pack” that includes a short-sleeve volunteer t-shirt, apron, name tag and volunteer training manual. The cost of the pack is $30.
Other junior volunteer opportunities include Junior Camp Counselors for the Potter League for Animals’ Camp Happy Tails. Camp counselors work under the supervision of the Potter League for Animals’ Humane Educator. Duties will include daily set-up and clean-up, assisting campers with craft projects, distributing materials, assisting with supervision of animal encounters, and taking out adorable pets for campers to socialize. Your time as a camp counselor will count towards fulfilling required community service hours needed for school, church, etc.
