Join animal lovers from across Rhode Island and beyond for the Potter League’s 36th annual Heart & Sole Walk for Animals at Fort Adams State Park in Newport.
This beloved fall tradition brings people and pets together for a scenic dog walk, sponsor and vendor marketplace, food trucks, family-friendly activities, special experiences for dogs, and a festive day celebrating the extraordinary bond we share with animals.
More than a walk, Heart & Sole is an opportunity for our community to come together in support of animals and the people who love them. Funds raised through the event help the Potter League provide lifesaving shelter, veterinary care, adoption services, behavior support, humane education, community assistance, and other essential programs throughout Rhode Island.

Gather your family, friends, coworkers, and four-legged companions for a day of outdoor fun at one of Rhode Island’s most iconic locations.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Walk alongside fellow animal lovers and their dogs
- Explore the sponsor and vendor marketplace
- Enjoy food from local food trucks
- Take part in activities for people and pets
- Connect with local businesses, organizations, and members of the animal-loving community
- Raise critical funds for animals in need
