Potter Pet University presents “The Power of Positive Dog Training”
Presented by Dr. Michael Yencha, Ph.D., M.S., Canine Behavior Consultant & Lecturer of Psychology, Salve Regina University
Reinforcement is a basic learning process that is ubiquitous in our everyday lives. Teachers, parents, pet owners, and professional trainers alike use reinforcement as an ethical and effective method for establishing novel skills and maintaining appropriate behavior. In the case of animal training, reinforcers may look like toys, treats, or games, but those are just the tip of the iceberg.
Using the science of behavior analysis, Dr. Michael Yencha will show you how to get the most out of your reinforcer, how to effectively prompt behavior to minimize errors, and how to avoid common mistakes to prevent frustration for you and your dog during the learning process. Join us on Wednesday, April 26, at 6pm to learn more about the accessible application of behavior principles in dog training.
Humans only, please! Free and open to the public.
